Beast is an exploration of the designer and wearer’s relationship to animal products and the design process. For this collection I was awarded the second year ‘Diverse and Impacting Studio Project’ award from RMIT.

The white dress is made of six lambs, with hand molded and painted thermoplastic teeth earrings. I painted the skins with attractive floral imagery, and then built up latex wounds over every seam to readdress the visceral and organic nature of the material and highlight its history.

The ‘meat’ dress is made of calico and coloured agar agar, scattered with teeth, intended as a vegan way to explore the visceral and abject world beneath skins.
