Beast is an exploration of the designer and wearer’s relationship to animal products and the design process. For this collection I was awarded the second year ‘Diverse and Impacting Studio Project’ award from RMIT.

The white dress is made of six lambs, with hand molded and painted thermoplastic teeth earrings. I painted the skins with attractive floral imagery, and then built up latex wounds over every seam to readdress the visceral and organic nature of the material and highlight its history.

​

The ‘meat’ dress is made of calico and coloured agar agar, scattered with teeth, intended as a vegan way to explore the visceral and abject world beneath skins.
